Dr. Ziyana Lategan is a lecturer in the Department of Political Studies at the University of Cape Town (UCT), where she teaches comparative politics and courses in political theory.
She holds a BSocSci in Politics and Philosophy from UCT, a BA(Hons) in Political Studies from UCT, an MA in Political Studies from UCT, and PhD in Philosophy, Literature, and Criticism from Binghamton University (upstate New York).
Ziyana’s areas of interest include social and political theory, anti-colonial theory and practice, South African intellectual history, Third World Marxisms, and African politics.
